I am in the process of creating chemistry tuition content on TikTok, you can find me @boringchemistryguy.
My videos are not about making people interested in chemistry or getting lots of "likes", they are about helping people understand chemistry, hence my (ironic!) name on TikTok.
Many students are tricked into studying chemistry by teachers setting fire to bubbles of methane in washing-up liquid, or making jelly babies scream in molten potassium chlorate, typically on open days in never-to-be-seen-again demonstrations. This is a shame, because there is no chemistry exam where you will get marks for enjoying watching exciting chemistry demonstrations. Instead, you will get marks for balancing equations correctly, or something equally dull, so if that's something you need to able to do (and I apologise if you were tricked into it) then you will find my videos useful. They are relevant to any specification, I am starting with GCSE level atomic structure and will eventually cover A-level, and they will be focused on core abilities such as balancing equations, drawing dot-and-cross diagrams, drawing organic formulae etc.
